Welcome to Fred Blau’s Blog

I have been supporting computers and software since configuring a Northstar Microcomputer (with 4KB of memory) in the late ‘ 70s. I’m currently an independent consultant providing a variety of services to individuals and businesses large and small. Current projects range from developing web database applications, building a field service dispatching program, and  hosting websites and email servers on my servers. I do general IT consulting for small businesses, some network and server management, and I help another software company with their development projects. Since I’m on the computer almost all the time doing a little bit of everything, I’ve acquired a fair amount of general knowledge. The purpose of this blog is to provide tips and tricks to both general computer users and technical users.
